Punta Banda Fruteria

The Frutaria Stand is a great stop on the way to the Beach Houses. It is the last business center on the right
before the Pharmacia. The Fruitaria (Produce Stand) carries most of what you would need on a trip. It obviously
carries produce and a lot cheaper then you are used to. Since the farms sell direct to the store without the
many layers in the states, they also have Chicken legs & thighs, Bacon, Chorizo, Hot Dogs, Cheese, Butter,
Great Ice Cream (gourmet for down there), Candy, Snacks, Tortillas (but not as good as the Grocery Stores in
Ensenada or a tortilla shop), Canned Goods, Water, Dog Food, Bird Seed, and that's just a start.

As far as the chicken goes, all the chickens in the Baja are free range. You know the ones that cost more in
the states. I challenge you to barbeque (all Ensenada Beach Rentals have Barbeques) the thighs and legs. You
will see what all locals know, the chickens, like most produce, is better in the Baja.

They have many more things in this little store and you will probably do most of your shopping there. It is
convenient and quick. For us they are a must stop and you will be surprised at the prices. The people who run
the Frutaria are polite, pleasant and professional and their prices are as good as Ensenada without the drive.

Remember, always pay in pesos if listed in the menu. The rate has changed so much lately that you never
know what exchange rate you will be given for dollars. Better to avoid the concern and maximize your money.
