BRING YOUR DOG TO THE BAJA
What is amazing, is that if your dog is well behaved, he is welcome in most restaurants. If they have no problem
with your dog, they see it has a possible quesadilla/taco sale. Another interesting take is that when you shop
with your dog on a leash, people assume you are a local. When we shop at La Bufadora, people recognize our
dog before they recognize us. This works everywhere in Mexico. So if your dog is on a leash even in Ensenada
they will make assumptions and give discounts accordingly.

Don't discount the security of your car or truck with your dog in it while you eat in a restaurant in Ensenada.
Mexicans in Northern Baja are generally afraid of dogs. This is not necessarily true in the Punta Banda area, but
will be added security in the city.

When you see your dog on the beach, you will realize you made his week as well. Once again if your dog is well
behaved he will be welcomed by all the local dogs as well. Our dog has so many different dog friends I can not
count them, but he looks forward to seeing each of them. Shouldn't everyone get to go on vacation even your
dog.
Remember, bring your vaccination records for traveling back into the US. They never ask for it, but you could be
the exception. If your dog is old, large, or heavy they won't even ask you about him. If your dog is small or looks
like a Mexican dog, they may ask more about him. We were only asked for papers once in the last 10 years.
Once the border agent asked if we had the vaccination records we said yes and reached for them. He said
"never mind I just wanted to know if you had them". He did not even look at them. Once in ten years! The law
says that you are supposed to get a health certificate for your dog a few days before your trip and you have to
have it to cross back into the US. Check with your vet for the current requirements to bring your dog back into
the States. You need to understand this, you may never be asked for this no matter what they say. On a funny
note, make sure they drink responsibly.

Bring your Dog! That's right, if your dog is well behaved, he is welcome everywhere in Mexico. We bring our dog
on every trip. If we did not he would bite me. Not good. Once you stay in one of our Dog Friendly Ensenada
Beach houses you will see that other than Summer, the only traffic on the beach is people walking their dogs.
